Biography
Mr. Carroll was born in Lowell, Massachusetts. He graduated cum laude from both Merrimack College (B.A. – History, 1981) and Suffolk University Law School (J.D., 1984). He has been practicing law since January 21, 1985. After two years with the Haverhill, Massachusetts law firm of Karelitz, Cohen & White as a generalist associate, with assignments involving a wide variety of matters, from complex estate tax planning to conducting civil and criminal trials, Mr. Carroll went to work with the Chelmsford, Massachusetts law firm of Charles F. McCannon and Associates. There Mr. Carroll specialized in real estate finance and development and business transaction work. In 1989 Mr. Carroll joined Guilford Transportation Industries, Inc., the parent company of the Boston and Maine Railroad, the Maine Central Railroad and the Delaware and Hudson Railroad, serving as assistant counsel for real estate matters. Also, during the period of 1987 to 1997, Mr. Carroll was a part time professor and lecturer in Business Law in the evening school program in Paralegal Studies at Rivier College in Nashua, New Hampshire. In 1991 Mr. Carroll started his own law firm in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. He specializes in wills, trusts and estate planning, corporate law and business transaction work and real estate. He is respected and sought after as a seminar speaker on estate planning and estate tax matters. Mr. Carroll resides in Andover, Massachusetts with his wife Margarita and their four young children.
